My name is Joey Lee*! I'm 42, and I am gay.
On February 18th, 1992, my life as I knew it began to change; drastically. While working as a Counselor for abused children and teens, sexually/physically, I injured my right knee. From that day on; one ''botched'' surgery after another; about 9 - 11 surgeries in three years, I ended up physically disabled.

I was first diagnosed with; Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (also referred to as RSD or CRPS), and also, Avascular Necrosis (also known as AVN).
Both RSD and AVN are ''Chronic Pain Syndromes'', with RSD being one of ''the most painful syndromes known''; yet one of the most untreated diseases known.
As my ''condition'' worsened, I came to realize I had a choice to make; I could give in to the excruciating pain, give in to the limitations these diseases caused; or, not. I wanted to do something, hopefully, where I could continue to ''counsel'' others. Since I am unable to work in any official capacity, due to the physical limitations as well as the pain, I decided I would find a way to help others that may be dealing with similar situations; being disabled and/or dealing with being gay; or those that may be just coming out. This was what lead to my creating my own website, and keeping this website for that last 10 or so years. All of the tasks I face are much easier to type here than to actually go forward with and make a difference.
Yet, despite everything, I consider myself to be extremely blessed.
Why? Because I AM ABLE to share my life with my, Always and Forever, ''life-partner'', David*. David* and I have been together for 16 incredible years!
